Meet our team

Our captain - Lee Holdsworth

Lee Holdsworth is one of Australia’s motor recognised motorsport competitors.

He recently retired from full-time Supercars competition and has taken up a position as a KINCROME brand and product ambassador.

The popular Supercars race winner will be a public face of KINCROME and will become ingrained in the business in the areas of product, marketing, sales and sponsorship.

Holdsworth had 470 starts in his 15-year Supercars career, headlined by three victories at Oran Park in 2007, Sydney 2010 and Winton 2014.

He is currently continuing his career in the new TCR Championship in Australia and is set to make his SXS debut in 2021 in a guest driver with KINCROME Racing – who else?

“I am proud to have been nominated as captain of Team KINCROME and cannot wait for all the cool things we have planned,” said Holsworth.

“This program is about working with our great racing teams, the fans and our talented and loyal staff and customers to ensure we have fun and celebrate our successes.

“I think we all look great in blue!”

KINCROME Racing/Simon Evans Motorsport

The flagship for Team KINCROME will be KINCROME Racing which has evolved out of the long-established and successful Simon Evans Motorsport operation at Bass in Victoria.

Simon Evans is regarded as one of best products of the modern era of Australian rallying.

In more recent years his driving talents have been converted to the world of off-road racing and in particular SXS competition.

Simon has always regarded his operation as a family affair and welcomed his son Jackson into the fold a few years ago.

The old saying of “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” was no more evident when Jackson replaced Simon as the national SXS champion in 2019.

The family racing tree grows another branch in 2021 with Simon’s daughter Eden becoming the final member of a three-driver KINCROME Racing operation.

The team members all have their individual identities with Simon (blue), Jackson (black) and Eden (Silver) carrying individual KINCROME-inspired themes.

KINCOME Racing will represent Team KINCROME at events in every Australian state and territory in 2021, except the ACT.

Our Fans

While we have fans of KINCROME tools, we look forward to converting many of them to being fans of KINCROME Racing and becoming active members of Team KINCROME.

We know that many KINCROME customers have an affinity with motorsport and many of them are proudly passionate.

Likewise, we know there are thousands of motorsport fans out there who we can encourage to become fans of KINCROME tools and our growing commitment to all levels of their favourite sport though our Team KINCROME program.

Blue Bloods

For us, being a Blue Blood has been a phrase used within KINCROME since it was established in 1987. Being a Blue Blood means you are part of the KINCROME family.

While our KINCROME staff are automatically family, there are many KINCROME tool users that bleed blue, which qualify them to be a part of the KINCROME clan.

Those who have already made a commitment to being a Blue Blood are automatically welcomed into Team KINCROME and we are sure they will enjoy the ride.

Jess Gardiner - Enduro Champion

Gardiner began her motorcycle racing career competing in motocross from the age of 13 before transitioning to Enduro competitions.

In 2013, at just 20 years of age, Gardiner became the first Australian to win the women’s class of the International Six Day Enduro – A feat she repeated the following year.

She has also been a member of the Australian team for nine years, which the women team have won the International Six Day Enduro event six consecutive times.

Gardiner is also a six-time Australian Off Road women’s champion and a five-time winner of the Australian four-day Enduro.

In 2017 she won both the European and French Enduro titles.

Gardiner juggles her training and racing with full-time employment as a heavy equipment operator with JK Williams Contracting in Penrith, NSW.

Her day job sees her in control of some of the biggest mining and earth moving equipment on the planet.

Despite all her commitments, Gardiner finds time to coach and mentor younger riders under her Off-road Riding Institute program and manages her own race team. (Yamaha MXstore Ballard’s Off-road Team).

A valuable member of Team Kincrome, Gardiner, who lives in the Blue Mountains, West of Sydney, is also sponsored by multiple companies under the Yamaha MXstore Ballards Offroad Team banner.

Kendrick Racing

Leading West Australian sprintcar team Kendrick Racing adds even more diversity to Team KINCROME.

Kendrick Racing was established by well-known industry identity Geoff Kendrick more than 35 years ago.

Kendrick established him in the sport in his late teens and has worked in a variety of areas including Supercars, Sports Sedans, Open Class speedboats, Jet Boats and Drag Racing.

His background as an automotive engineer, machinist and mechanic has earned him the reputation of being one of Australia’s leading race engine builders through his business Kenrick Automotives.

Much of Kenrick’s knowledge is applied directly to Kendrick Racing where his son Jason is the driver.

Jason’s only race experience before sitting his bum in a sprintcar was a few years in BMX.

He crewed on cars at Kendrick Racing for seven years to build up his mechanical knowledge which could then be applied behind the wheel.

In 2019-2020 the team won its third consecutive Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series with Jason’s consistent season including three wins, three seconds, three fourths and two fifth-placed finishes, before COVID-19 conditions came into effect.

KINCROME has been a primary sponsor of Kendrick Racing for more than 10 years.

The team has title sponsorship from radio station Hit 92.9FM – a relationship which has evolved over more than 30 years.

Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series, Western Australia

KINCROME has been a sponsor of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series for more than a decade.

The series is one of the most recognised in Australia and is televised nationally on Seven Mate.

Each entrant in the series carries a KINCROME sticker, which qualifies them for the KINCROME Hardcharger award which is presented to the driver who passes the most opponents on the night.

KINCROME also provides product as trophies for series champions.

The series, run by the Sprintcar Entrants Group (SEG), usually consists of 20 rounds and runs from October to April.

AUSRZR Motorsport

Chris “Tank” Collins has the unusual position of qualifying for Team KINCROME twice.

Collins, 39, began his career at KINCROME in 2000 assembling tool kits in the company’s warehouse.

He worked his way through the business and was a product manager for nine years before moving into the leadership team managing product development, design, sourcing and engineering teams.

Collins’ passion for motorsport began at an early age with his parent’s acreage property becoming his “race track” for anything he could get his hands on – including an old Toyota Corolla “paddock basher” and even a ride on mower he was constantly trying to jump has high as he could.

His automotive passion turned to four-wheel driving and the day he saw a Polaris RZR for the first time he was hooked.

Ironically, he met KINCROME Racing’s Simon Evans while buying some spare wheels for his new RZR and soon after they had mapped out a plan to go racing in 2021.

Collins’ co-driver for the season will be his American-born partner Erika who became an Australian citizen earlier this year and who will now get to explore every corner of her new “home” chasing championship points.

AUSRZR Motorsport will proudly carry KINCROME branding in Collins’ debut season in the KINCROME Motorsport Australia SXS Championship.
